I've done this trip a number of times in the past, but always with a stop over in Mammoth, so I always took the 395. This time I'm going straight up to Northstar.... so is is better to go the 395 still, or take the 5 through Sacramento to the 80?
Oh, and we will be leaving around 3:30 on a Thursday evening so hopefully not too much traffic getting across LA to the 5 North or up the 15.
