Man - I shudder to think about everybody having their own few acres of heaven in the forest.... the forest would be gone in short order.

I like to see cookie-cutter houses built as close together as possible.
The latest trend is to clear cut then build McMansions with several acres of yard. It seems in some areas leaving trees has become a liability. Homeowners have been suing builders if a tree dies within the warranty period. It is cheaper to clear cut then plant $20 saplings.

sounds like the usual.

i've been building in old plantation cotton fields for the last several years so there are no trees what so ever.
