Hey guys, I've started riding to work (about 10 miles one way) and I keep getting flats from thorns, at least 2 or 3 a week! I stopped by my local bike shop and I got some Specialized thorn resistant tubes pre-filled with Specialized's Airlock Sealant. Well, after riding on them for 2 days, I got freakin flats again!

The ride to work includes about 2 miles on dirt and I don't know what to do anymore... Do any of you guys use the airless tubes? Any suggestions?

This is what I have in right now:

I use slime tube on the rear, and it tends to work for the most part. You may look into getting some Armadillo tires as well. They have kevlar built into the lining...

Double up on tires. Run an old 23c tire, with the bead cut off, inside a 28c tire. Old DH trick and it'll keep you from flatting. It's what I do on my training bike.

Do I need to get better tires if I get this kit? I have the stock Geax tires right now.
i dunno if your tires will/won't work, but i have heard that some tires will break down when in contact with sealant so you may want to search to see if your tires will do that.

My old shop had a regular customer who got flats nearly every ride. We tried everything with no success. Then he got new glasses, and the flats stopped.

Failing Heisenberg's suggestion, I guess Stan's is probably a good call.

You should do a little bit of research into notubes.com.

Here is a vid, and while I don't recommend running over a nail bed 20 times, I have had thorns and tread cuts without a flat.
