Well that sucks. Seafood is one of the most amazing foods ever, thus why I took up spearfishing as well.It has stopped me from eating most seafood.

Ok, maybe I shouldn't use any absolutes, but I was just riding on a trail system that was built in the 1850's for gold mining. We know a little about it.
We do not know "EXACTLY what my impact is".
That's not going to stop me from riding my bicycle or driving my car. It has stopped me from eating most seafood.
it sucks that 8 people died but.....a question......doesn't it piss you off just a little bit that those 8 people would not have died had they just exercised the tiniest bit of common sense?Thank you to the few people here that have had something positive to say.
you mean standing only feet away from 4000lb trucks going 50mph isnt a good idea?doesn't it piss you off just a little bit that those 8 people would not have died had they just exercised the tiniest bit of common sense?
Sure, keep telling yourself the average Joe can make a change not racing a rally car while the US doesnt even want to sign the Kyoto protocol...Please, I never said anything about saving the planet for my own good. It takes generations and I'll be long gone. It's selfish to use the limited resources during your lifetime and screw over those that might come later.
Yes, we ARE parasites. But we can be less parasitic if we make some changes.
And spare us your argument that its ok to shred the landscape for fun because in the end "mother earth" will be better off without us. Even if it may be true on some macro, cosmic level, it's not the reason you fire up the buggy and you know it.
How much air were the trucks getting on your block?you mean standing only feet away from 4000lb trucks going 50mph isnt a good idea?
good thing i saw that before i played in the street!
massive amountsHow much air were the trucks getting on your block?
Sure, keep telling yourself the average Joe can make a change not racing a rally car while the US doesnt even want to sign the Kyoto protocol...
Ofcourse its doesnt do any harm to think about the environment and ride your bike to work, but the impact of the one or two people who give a **** about this planet isnt gonna change a thing but give them some peace of mind.
We might as well accept humans as a species are selfish assholes because a couple of hippies arent gonna change the faith or the race and our planet anyways.
Ok Im done now...
It does actually, but since I've spent a lot of time at races and other events (New Years in Glamis pre national guard, etc.), I'm not really surprised by it.it sucks that 8 people died but.....a question......doesn't it piss you off just a little bit that those 8 people would not have died had they just exercised the tiniest bit of common sense?
and that's why I drink only beer. It's really the problem of the NWO. See, they are introducing prozac and lithium into the water supply.
Truthfully that's how its always been. It does anger me that it took an incident like this to make people wake up and realize how dangerous this sport is. It does anger me that we brought the girl friends of our buddy's who were racing with us to the accident sight. So the answer to your question is yes, I am angry that something as simple as people moving 25ft back would have saved lives. I am angered by this whole incident.it sucks that 8 people died but.....a question......doesn't it piss you off just a little bit that those 8 people would not have died had they just exercised the tiniest bit of common sense?
We moved on from talking about rally cars specifically to a broader discussion about changing the way people live generally. And yeah maybe one or two people won't make an impact, but if you can get an increasingly large chunk of the people to take a few steps, it will make a difference. Call me a hippie, dreamer or optimist if you want, but it's better than just giving up.Sure, keep telling yourself the average Joe can make a change not racing a rally car while the US doesnt even want to sign the Kyoto protocol...

so you don't need water to make beer?and that's why I drink only beer.
Must spread!!!We moved on from talking about rally cars specifically to a broader discussion about changing the way people live generally. ... water filters...so you don't need water to make beer?
I sure hope you're talking about rep. If you ARE talking about rep, I gotcha covered.Must spread!!!
According to a number of scientists a global disaster is allready inevitable and all the emission reduction in the world is only gonna postpone it for a minute period of time. When we found out about this in the 70s we were allready to late to solve this problem simply by reducing emissions. We moved on from talking about rally cars specifically to a broader discussion about changing the way people live generally. Water filters do not filter out fluoride. If you do buy a filtration system that filters out fluoride your looking at the filters costing more than the unit itself.... water filters...
I sure hope you're talking about rep. If you ARE talking about rep, I gotcha covered.
Don't be attacking my latest reason to drink more beer you prohibitionistso you don't need water to make beer?
Actually have a reverse osmosis filter under the sink. Didn't realize it also helped out my tinfoil hat tendencies...Knuckleslammer said:Water filters do not filter out fluoride. reverse osmosis systems do though. and yes, the filters cost more than a complete unit. instead of buying new filters every 6-8 months, i buy a whole new setup from ebay.Water filters do not filter out fluoride. Do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk, ice cream? Ice cream, Mandrake? Children's ice cream!...You know when fluoridation began?...1946. 1946, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works. I first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love...Yes, a profound sense of fatigue, a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I-I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence. I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women, er, women sense my power, and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women, Mandrake...but I do deny them my essence.Tinfoil hat types: please point me to peer-reviewed evidence stating why one shouldn't drink fluoridated water.
awesome reference! i was thinking the same thing tooDo you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk, ice cream? This thread should win some sort of epic derailment award....
Causes autism, I heard.Tinfoil hat types: please point me to peer-reviewed evidence stating why one shouldn't drink fluoridated water.
I was only jokingThe real travesty here is the environmentalists trying to use the deaths of these people to push their agenda banning off road vehicles in the dunes...
Not to bring this thread back on track, but every time I watch footage of the Baja 1000, I'm amazed more people aren't killed.Truthfully that's how its always been. It does anger me that it took an incident like this to make people wake up and realize how dangerous this sport is. It does anger me that we brought the girl friends of our buddy's who were racing with us to the accident sight. I guess not. "We got such a good spot...I can see the bottom of that truck from here"....I think it sucks, but anyone smart enough to find the viewing spots should be smart enough to stand back.
Fact: People die. Not necessarily a bad thing.
Scott: In the city always a refelection, in the woods always a sound. If you drink poison in the desert, you will die. It's true. Of course, drinking poison most anywhere can kill you. If you're in the desert, you also die all hot and uncomfortable. Don't do it.
Because if everybody would shut the **** up and leave it at that, Ridemonkey would have to shut the **** down and close their bussiness...How about everybody shuts the FVCK up about the environment issue. EVERYONE is going to have a different opinion on it, why cant we just leave it at that?
