So Thursday Night riding home from work , My sift laver snaps of as I go to Down Shift.
It is an older Campy 8 Speed. it still shift nice and Crisp, so no reason to upgrade. but now can't shift since no Lever.
so I take it to my local shop. and they look and say we can't do anything with that, we are having a tough time even getting the 9 speed parts.
and then they look and say that is not even a replaceable part because it is riveted on ( I broke it below the rivets ) . butthey go to there junk drawer and find an old camp brake/shifter hthat has been taken apart and only has but still has the sift lever . they showed it and gave it to me and said I could give it a try but really felt It was time for me to retire the old stuff.
well I drilled out the rivet got the lever off, did the same to my handle , was abel to replace the rivet with a 4-40 screw, the bitch was getting the return spring lined back up and in its grove , but all told took about 45 minutes and I'm back in buisness.
woo hoo.
