Looking to get a pair of bib shorts, but I don't want to spend $100+. Castelli and Pearl Izumi both have offerings around $70, decent? Any recommendations?

Currently, I'm using the Descente Prologue bib shorts. Longest ride in the couple of weeks I've had them was a 70 mile, 5k climbing adventure in the rain. They ruled. Picked them up off of sierratradingpost.com for ~$65.

I tried to go budget twice and got burned both times. Waste of money.
I haven't liked anything from Castelli, personally.

Spring for the Ultrasensor and they will last and be a good investment.

Just to tie this thread off (and in case anyone actually cares), I bought a pair of Craft Pro Race bibs. I've got a few rides on them and am pretty happy with them. Are they twice as good as standard shorts, thus justifying twice the cost? Probably not, but they are nice and they are more comfortable/fit better than do the other shorts I've worn.

I'm not going to be one of those guys who swears by them, but I can see the appeal.

Yes it is a best offer. You should grab it until the stock last. It is really fabulous. Hurry up take the advantage of it.
