today's classical track of the day is:

Leonard Bernstein - Chichester Psalms - mvmt 2

i don't know who the group or the boy soloist is, as i grabbed this mp3 (along with several gigs (!) of bach and beethoven) off of an open MIT fileshare a few years ago. :) oh, and it's fun to play -- yes, i generally pick stuff that i've played before, since i'm more familar with it. i also got to listen to a fabulous rendition of it by the boston symphony along with the mormon tabernacle choir out at tanglewood in the summer of 2003.

chichester psalms is one of my favorite bernstein pieces, for orchestra, organ, 2 harps, choir, and soloists. the 2nd movement featured here has a haunting line sung first by the boy alto? soprano? soloist, then by the choir.

I'm not a huge fan of chorals in general. I wouldn't go so far as to say I didn't like this one, but it didn't win me over either.
