Hi,

I am currently living in Tampa (I am here for another 12 weeks) and want to experience some US mountain biking. I have decided not to buy a bike here, but want to get out and ride some special trails.

I realise that riding in Colorado, Utah etc is not an option at the moment, but am hoping to get in some "special" riding. I am prepared to fly to where ever it takes.

I was thinking of getting in with a tour operator that offers guided rides - any suggestions?

I don't know about places that offer tours...but why not just research an area as well as you can, go there, rent a car and bike and have fun? If you do some good planning, a tour isn't necessary.

And, yes, the alpine riding in CO isn't accessible right now, but lower elevation stuff can be good in the winter. Look maybe at Fruita. If not there, Arizona is an option as are some places in UT.
