Hello, I am starting to cycle indoors for exercise. Incidentally, I noticed that there are three different types of stationary bike: Upright; Recumbent; Indoor Cycling.

Can someone explain the differences in terms of pros and cons?

Hi there, so far these are the things that I can tell you about stationary bikes:

The recumbent bikes allows the rider to recline. This can provide rest and support for the back, promote more efficient blood flow to the body, and the rider can concentrate on their legs. Most people opt to buy recumbent style because this is the most comfortable stationary bike.

The upright bike offers uphill simulations or sprints and allows the rider to stand up while pedaling. They can provide a good lower body workout. They also take up less room and cheaper compared to the other indoor cycling bike styles.

Indoor cycling is for serious training and workouts. They provide easy access to unlimited resistance levels and easy riding position adjustments.
