I have read a few news stories that say it is an innefective barrier against chemical and biological agents (or even common smoke). Here is one I could recall the URL;

If that is the case, then why is our government giving us this kind of misleading information? It is like telling people to "duck and cover" in case of a nuclear attack... What is the point of this placebo information, unless they really don't expect us to ever have to use it?

The bleating of sheep contained here...

Its quite obivous, scare tatics/propaganda to get more Americans to support War in the Gulf...

Other good examples:

Britian's Iraq Dossier based on "intelligence reports" from "experts" (ie a college thesis by student)

US Justice Dept. Inflated Terror Cases

Powell's evidence performance at the UN - he had a powdered anthrax prop even though the type Saddam would be using is liquid and the powdered antrax attack on the US was US in origin.

Assuming the duct tape and plastic was enough to seal out anything, you'd end up dying from asphyxiation, because no fresh air would come in, so you'd run out of oxygen within a couple of days. There's no way to completely seal off a house unless you live in a specially designed, airtight bunker.

What they should be telling people is to keep a positive interior pressure, using filtered intakes. No need to seal anything up.

Oddlly enough there is a feeling amongst a large portion of the UK population the the current high alert against a terrorist attck in UK airports (and some other areas) is just propaganda designed to whip up anti-Iraq sentiment and support for an invasion.

According to a survey published yesterday the same number of Brits view George Bush as a threat to peace as view Saddam Hussein the same way.
