Help open Panorama Trail and Stream Trails!
The process for Checklist Evaluation of trails to be opened by EBRPD continues. Last year's request to open Upper Pine Tree Trail in Briones Regional Park is currently tabled by the Board pending a Board field trip to the trail to evaluate it themselves, as they were not content to act on Staff's recommendation that it be opened. This was partly prompted by Ward 1/Berkeley EBRPD Board member Nancy's Skinner's opposition to the trail being opened, which she voiced both on her Operations Committee seat where she was out voted by Doug Siden and Carol Severin, and during the full Board meeting where the measure was tabled.
This year, BTCEB submitted four trails to EBATC for their consideration. Of those four, EBATC forwarded two to EBRPD for staff review. They are Panorama Trail in Mission Peak Park and Stream Trail (uphill only) in Redwood Park.
