I wouldn't wait until October. It's impossible to say how long the season will last. Just have a back-up plan. The foothills don't usually accumulate snow, so if you're wanting to hit the higher elevations and it snows, then know where on the front range you can go.

What kind of riding are you wanting to do? Gravity, xc, road, cx (ask squeak... he's gotten into cx racing). Where are you wanting to ride?

The year I moved here, the snow hit on Sep. 9th. So I would say anytime before Sep. 1st and you'd be safe............... :D

Seriously, though - it's a crapshoot. Just do it before mid-October, and if you do it after, plan on only the Front Range or the desert.
