So why can't I get a neat embedded vid from my Flickr page? There's no specific Flickr tag, but Fiickr gives me this as a cut and paste to embed:

If I use the "html" tags, it's just text in my post. Can I make this stuff useful somehow? Please help...and bear in mind I know jack about computers.

We don't allow HTML in the posts - too much room for abuse. I can make a custom vBulletin tag when I get back from vacation to embed Flickr videos.

MikeD, do you have multiple videos on your account? If so, could you post up two or three embed HTML tags for me to look at? I need to see what fields change from video to video.

If that photo_secret and photo_id field changes on every video, the tag is still possible to build but nobody is going to want to actually use it.

BV, you can wave off this one if you like as far as I'm concerned--Flickr video is pretty limited so I'm just using YouTube...

If you want, though, I'll upload another vid or two for you to see.

If you get a second, I wouldn't mind looking into a custom tag for it anyway. May as well provide a range of options for people to embed video: for sure, if one person wants to do it, eventually someone else will, too.

I can't seem to embed others' videos - I poked around Flickr but it won't generate embed tags for a video that's not mine.

Meh, the fvckers made it more complicated than it has to be.

It's easy to create a tag, but you'd have to copy and paste in so many variables that it's almost not worth it.

Working on another solution but it will require some playing in the test environment before it'll come anywhere near production.
