Can anyone confirm if this is correct for me?
I got the sizes by searching various forums but I found a few different sizes for the fox.

Travis = 585
888rc2x = 583
boxxer = 568 (-25 for ride)
fox 40 = 573

I run a 888 and in the future was thinking about running a fox. Problem is I dont want to change my head angle much (any if I can avoid it). I am looking for MAX lengths i.e. with the stanchion pushed all the way through the crown.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread.

I'm measuring to the 71.5 cm range axle to bottom of upper crown.

Are these measurements to the bottom of the lower crown?

The measurements are from the top of the lower crown (where the crown race of your headset sits) to the center of the axle.

So you would need to know the headtube length right?

If not it would be completely different from sat a Sunday, to an Yeti.

Depends on what you are trying to calculate. The HT length has no bearing on axle to crown length of a fork. It does affect what your bar height will be.

I'm trying to find out what the maximum length the Boxxer can be used. Axle to the underside of the center of the upper crown. With the crown installed at the very top of stanctions.
The lower crown and steer tube are irrelevant to the distance I'm looking for.
203mm boxxer.

Your best bet would probably be to find someone with the same setup that you are going to have. I can tell you what it is on a Sunday.

The fork doesn't even need to be installed on a bike. Hell it doesn't even need the Lower crown and steer tube on it.
If measuring to the top of the lower crown, installed on a bike there is no true maximum length. There are too many variables.
Even same fork on two Sundays can have drastically different max measurements when using these two points of reference.
One can be using the HS topcap, w unfaced headtube. The other with no topcap, faced headtube etc. will have two different actual maximum lengths the fork can be installed.
This is why I'm looking for this particular distance.
How tall the fork is basically. Then I can take that and make the calculations I need.

If these measurements stated here are claimed Max lengths, and the point of reference used ith top of lower crown. Then is this with a tall crown? Because just the difference between tall and short crown on a Boxxer would make for two very different max if measured axle to lower crown.

I'm looking for distance w/short crown btw.
