Hannah should be coming home today, but I finally got sick from this. Stupid fucking Nosefrida. I'm buried under heavy blankets and freezing my ass off currently. FTS.

Settlers of Catan last night. Hung over this morning. First time in quite a while I've done any drinking. Amazing how few, low alcohol, beers it took to make me feel like shit and to sleep so badly. I'm sorry beer, I love you, but I don't think this relationship is going to work.

Plus, you forgot the wingdings. :disgust1:

yesterday was definitely the day to ride. Wet and windy out this morning vs calm and 70 when I rode. My muscles are just a tad stiff today so I know I had fun in the dirt :cheers::cheers:

Ruth and I took the dogs for a walk to downtown last night and had beers at an outside table at the Beer Baron. We must have had 40 people ask if they could pet the dogs, they loved it.

Sipping espresso this morning and I have no effing clue what I am going to do today

50 mph winds all day yesterday. Was a shitshow and not able to do much outside. Going to be attacking the garage attic today. Full tyvex suit and mask and goggles. 10 years of cat shit and bird feathers to pull out plus all the soggy and rotten plywood. This is the last hurtle to clear before I can powerwash the whole place and begin construction of bongshed v1.0.

Done ~6.5 miles in 6-7" deep heavy snow. Removed wet snow from sidewalks and driveways. I am le done. There's more on my to do list though - replace springs on second garage door, have a beer in local brewery with a Czech neighbor, grill some chicken breasts for wifey.

Dropped off FIL at airport. Doing DPS Phantom treatment today, which involves a total of 6 hours curing in sunlight.

Also showing the RAV4 EV to a Denver local who is checking it out for the potential NY buyer. This Denver guy amusingly has a RAV4 EV and a Lexus LX 470. For those who aren’t car super-nerds, that LX was the Lexus equivalent of my generation Land Cruiser: there were at least two crazies in Denver with the same garage (that had the least and most efficient Toyota vehicles of that era) by chance, in other words. Not only that but he also met Jessica before, yelling from his LX to her in the EV a few years ago that his other vehicle was a RAV4 EV...

Small world, this.

Up early to ride and beat the melt. Fun was had, but the climb up sucked, the trail follows a stream bed and was muddy. Paid off with drifty carvy snow descents.

One ride finished and now waiting for my buddy to get off work at the local Nordic ski hut to go out for a second ride. Enjoying a nice beer in the sun.

Trails were perfect today for (faster) fat biking, sadly it looks like it's all over for the foreseeable future. :(

Mrmph, an inch of snow this morning, supposed to get to 65 F Wednesday...

What these guys said. Supposed to warm up significantly over the next few days. AND the forecast is calling for THREE days of rain.

What. The. Heck.

Ho lee phuck, if you assholes have not been to a cat show, then you haven't lived. It's like the movie "Best in Show", but in real life (ie- better). So many overweight fruitcakes, wearing all manner of cat themed clothing with a smattering of old Las Vegas casino sweat shirts . There really were some cool cats to be seen, with the chill Maine Coons being my favorite. But it was so awesome to have all these puffy nutters try to get my daughter hooked on the idea of me buying a $1,500 cat for her...

I was also severely admonished for ever letting my decidedly pedestrian black cat outside, as keeping them indoors at all times adds 10 years to their life. I told the ever informative cat hag that would mean my cat would live to 27 given that he's 17 now and spends 50% of his time outside.

Pissed I forgot to get an airbrushed kitten t-shirt...but I did get this (his leopard loafers matched his tie)

Over here, adopting a cat from a shelter is harder then getting a toddler in China.

That was the case with a dog we got from the SPCA. I even told them I could have a baby of any skin flavor in my possession easier than this. I should be able to show a video of me mountain biking with my former trail buddy, then walk out of there with dog in hand. I get they don't want turds adopting dogs, but like with airport security, there should be some pre-approved dog bro status.

I mean FFS, my dog was sharing this deer leg (fur still on the ankle area) with @SuboptimusPrime 's dog (pictured below) today during and after the mountain bike ride. That's quality dog life right there ...

I must be on a backpacking jones. After working on my tent I went over to REI to get some new tread for my speedy stitcher ( you know you beat the shit out of stuff when you go through a bobbin of thread) and a bunch of freeze dried food.

This makes two riding buddies with motor neuron diseases.
I've mentioned this before, but my dad has ALS. He has had it for over ten years, and is still talking and walking. Super long onset...but he is getting worse. He is 83, though.

Sadly is still in his 30s. Started having problems 18 months ago, was probably mis-diagnosed with a mass on a vertebrae, but surgery didn't help and things seem to be progressing steadily.
