Does anyone know if this combination works? anything bad/good about
it?
Giant MCM Team carbon hardtail, size small (15") with Specialized FSX
carbon susp fork (1994 model, weight under 3 lbs), 2 inch travel. I
intend to build this up as xc racing hardtail. I weight 145.

Thanks
Kwan

those forks were PIMP for their day...well actually still are in my opinon.....like that matters. if you can keep that fork in good working condition then use it. it will be impossible to find parts for it anymore. rock shox actually made that fork and they generally don't make parts for forks after they are 2 years old....

I have had a few of those forks and only sold my last one about a year ago. You can get parts easy. It uses Judy parts. I had a set of 3" speed springs and a white bros cartridge in mine as well as the Ti hardware from a Judy SL. It felt as good as any sid or mars and was only like 2.8 lbs and almost 8 years old! It was on a Klein Pulse, great XC bike! Just be sure the fork you have is not cracked and in good shape. The only thing on this fork different from a Judy is the lowers. So, i repeat, it is easy to get parts!
