Hi.
What are good beginner climbs in South Bay? I was thinking of doing OLH road, but after reading some reports it seems like it could be crowded with bikes and local cars, and have unsafe descent. So, if I am totally dead up there, someone could hit me due to my poor control, also bailing to go down would not be pleasant as I suck at descending curved roads.
I figure I should start with something easier and safer. What are the good options?

I am not totally out of shape, as a commuter I ride 35-60 miles a week, usually going much faster compared to all the other commuters I meet, but I am not sure if that translates into climbing.
I have a road bike which I rarely ride to use for the climbs.
