I have been using Google chrome for several months. Love how it loads really quickly and how it loads pages really quickly. However if I leave the computer for a while can come back getting Chrome going is super slow reloading/refreshing pages. Even if I load open a new tab its slow loading the page I want. Its driving me crazy

Firefox works fine and so do IE8 on the same computer and does not have similar problems.

mine does the same.
when i let it sit and reload a page, you can see the page reload starting from the top of the screen and slowly going to the bottom.

I haven't experienced that with Chrome. Older versions of Firefox acted similar for me - they had memory leaks, so if you left them open for long periods of time they would eat up all the available memory on the computer...

Are you guys running any extensions? They can cause wonky behavior on occasion.

Mine was doing this, it was Flash getting hung up. Hasn't happened in a while, though, so not sure whether it was a Flash update or the switch to Chrome 5.0 Beta that cured it.

I always prefer either Opera or Internet Explorer 8 which doesn't cause this kind of troubles.

id rather deal with the occasional slowness after computer downtime, then use IE8 or Opera

I get the same, interestingly you can right mouse click on the tab bar doobry and get a task manager for chrome. Scarily it sits there and seems to be munching memory rather fast. Looks like a leak, but I'm sure it's nothing so blatant as that...
