How much are you looking to spend? The micro sea cam might fit the bill, I guarantee it's the toughest camera you'll ever own, and waterproof up to 20,000 feet. Might not be exactly what you're looking for though.

Edit: Oops forgot the link: http://www.deepsea.com/msc2002.html
nope, don't like this one, can't operate well under freezing tempatures. the helmetcamera.com cam, i've used in -14 F. works beautifully

I guess I should have checked that first, our manufacturing cost alone is probabally more than what you'd want to spend on a camera.

i've used it at Plattekill and mostly urban. but have also used it snowboarding. and i suck at that. so i handed it off to some friends that are good. the footage through the forests and such ROCK. i have crashed with the thing on. the cables and such are ok. i taped them up and such to protect them even more. the mic needs muffle thingy. i took the muffles off my headphones. and that works pretty good.
really though go for the higher quality version of the camera. really much better.

the only thing that i HATE is the battery source. 8 AAs, that ****in blows. i'd shell out the money for like a custom Lithium ion battery or something, love this Camera soo much. so if you hear anything, call me!

What is the differance between a 380 and a 480 camera? I know about 100. Can you really tell if the 480 is that much better? I am trying to decide if it is worth the extra $$.

yeah, the 480's are much better resolution,
immediately noticeable difference...
i had a sportzshot 480 with a sony HAD chip in it --
pretty happy with the quality (for a lipstick cam),
but the new sony EX-view chip looks to be even better....
i'm basically looking for whatever package has the EX-View chip,
a rechargeable lithium batterypack, and quality connectors....
