I assume you'll run a Gamut or something on the bike. Run a standard BB mount, though. The ISCG mounts can break off at times, and get stripped out.

He should be good as long as he's running something with a bashring as any impact will be on the cranks rather than the bb or iscg mounts.

Something like an lg-1 with a taco would be a different story.

Thanks guys. It looks so pretty in person. I am hoping in the next month or so I can afford to get it built up. Still trying to source down a few parts.

BYoung, I am VERY interested in what we discussed at the race this weekend. Let me know.

UPDATED LIST - Bike should be here tomorrow (I think)

Need:
-Wheels: Rear 150mm spacing / 20 up front
-Ghetto tubeless set up (I just need bmx tubes now)
-Headset (1.5 reducer)
-Bars
-Cranks/BB/bash/sprocket (83 cup)
-Rotors/maybe pads
-Shifter cable and housing

Have:

-Fork (Graciously donated by Todd)
-Stem (Graciously donated by Todd)
-Cassette (Graciously donated by Todd)
-Pedals (Graciously donated by Todd)
-Shifter/derailer (Graciously donated by Todd)
-Seat (Graciously donated by Todd)
-Seatpost (I have a spare Thompson at my house somewhere)
-Chain (I have a spare slightly used one somewhere)
-Brakes (I have a old set of saints laying around)
-Tires (I have a set of Kenda Nevegals)
Good looking frame.

Do you still need a wheelset? I have a set of lightly used '07 32 hole, 150mm x 12, 20mm black MTXs on Sun Ringle Camo hubs. Only ridden in two CHDH races before I replaced them with I9s.

I have a set of Truvativ Holzfeller 31.8 bars, a few scratches...

Also, a bunch of Hayes rotors lying about the garage. If you don't like or want the Saints, I have a set of Avid Juicy 5's that need a rebleed and probably new pads.

Brett aka gonefirefightin' says he wants to marry you and get it on with you??? I have no idea what that means but he called me up all drunk and told me that.

Hmmm... thats a strange comment from Brett. At least he wants to marry me first?

I don't know what it is about this forum and people thinking I am a girl. I am not. For the record. :monkeydance:

What size is the seat post, Josh? I have a 30.0 laying around... actually, I have two of them. And a WTB DH saddle, and an SDG I-beam also.

Some of those things are expensive. I am checking out the Santa Cruz garage sale this weekend and hopefully get the rest of the parts for slightly cheaper than hitting up the LBS.

So pumped! Picked up a set of cranks for $10, bars for $8, dh stem for $12, and a xt shifter for $10. The Santa Cruz mtb sale rocked.

All I need now is a ISIS 83mm bottom bracket, rotors, cassette, seatpost, and grips. =]

I'm kind of hoping for a road cassette. But I might just settle for a mountain one and swap it out later just so I can ride. The Santa Cruz sale rocked. Really hard.

I have a set of saint brakes but my wheels I got aren't the kind that are compatible with the saint lock on crap. I ran other rotors with them on my vp free but I don't remember what kind of rotors I ran. Do you think Avids or Hayes would be better?

List of parts needed:

-ISIS 83mm bottom bracket
-Grips
-2 8inch Rotors (still trying to figure out what brand would work best)
-Cassette (preferably road) Might have scored one off of my pro road racer co-worker. Would the spacing work you think? It isnt different is it?
-Seatpost (30.9)
-500lb Fox spring (9.5x3)

I have old OURY Grips I've been meaning to get rid of. You can just have them. They're taking up room in my tool box. So take the grips off of your "I need" list.

I'd just get the standard 6-bolt Shimano rotors. They're pricey, but better to have compatible stuff.

Road cassette is fine but you'll want a short cage derailleur. Long cage or medium cage tend to allow too much slack in the chain. I still have a used (but in great shape) 971 cassette that should work just fine. I assume you'll be running a SRAM chain (I hope) for the ease of removal with the gold-link...

The ISIS 83mm BB you'll probably have to order. I don't know anyone who keeps those units in stock anymore.

Keep checking Craigslist for the proper spring. They pop up on there every now and again.

Let me know if you want the grips and cassette.

I've got a Fox 400 x 3.25 spring. Not what you're looking for I know, but maybe you can exchange it. Also have a pair of used Oury lock-on grips you can have.

I might have one of those BB's lying around. I think I had an old one from the Demo but I might have just tossed it. I'll check.

So I guess everyone who has donated to this project gets to borrow the bike right? :)

Josh, let me know when you want to meet up.

I'll be around tomorrow (Thursday) for about an hour after work, or after 8:30pm.

I'll be in Tahoe all weekend, so if this week doesn't work, you can pick them up next week. No problemo. Maybe go home, pick up Em, and bring her over for some din-din. I cook.

Jehn's been hard at work applying for jobs, and we have faith that something will come along at just the right time.

This is going to be my last out-of-town trip until she gets a job. But she told me that she was getting her hair done, despite being laid off. So I told her that, despite her being laid off, I was going back to Northstar again. After all, her hair will be more expensive than this entire weekend for me.

:D I think that's fair.

Cant this weekend. I'm going out of town to Mammoth for a beer festival. I think the following weekend I might actually be able to ride the dh bike (depending on if my new fork and rear shock spring get here in the next 8 days). If its not ready, I will just take my Snyper.

What ride are you getting? Also, how was the meet? Sorry I couldn't make it.

Sweet! You getting a good deal on it? Also, are you into early morning riding? Start at 7am and usually done before 8am?

Yeah, looked like it. I rode by the guy with the blue r32 the other day in town and said hi. I think he was confused.

The guy with the mk2 vr6 I went to school with and got him into vw's back when I had a black g60.

Early mornings are fine with me. And PM sent in regards to the deal...I may end up swapping out the frame for a Corsair Konig, we'll see.

I don't even own a VW anymore and all of the people that went are trying to get me to organize a monthly meet...

Heh I used to be in charge of the SC meets and drives. We used to put together late night drives through the hills. Lots of fun, but then I got lazy/cheap. I would rather just go to sleep or drink beers.

PM sent with details on the ride.
