Yes he does. I was set on a Speedvagen until I learned that he did the fabrication. This custom frame was almost 1/3 the cost of a stock SV.

Life is ****ing awesome. I hate working with it though... The seatstays especially give me hell. I always end up crimping them a little in my fixture. It's about time you got a custom frame for your freaky frame. I have a huge stock of those chainstays in their aluminum version... Wicked rad shaping and butting on those.

This bike is gone now.
What's the boss forcing on you?
Specialized SWORKS SL3

He doesn't care what mtb I ride, doesn't care what cross bike I ride, but really cares about what road bike I'm on.

By the way, still have a few 54.5 Supertouches in stock?

That's lame. I would have kept it as a commuter if nothing else. My intention is to keep the custom frames I've gotten from him regardless of what team I ride for later.

I'm with you there. There are some bikes I'll always have. Like my C50, I ride it at lunch rides here, even though it's not one of our brands, but because it's something a bit special, it's ok. I couldn't get away with riding a Spesh, or Trek though. Not that I'd want to... :)

If I were to leave this gig, I would probably end up keeping one of the bikes I have, the System Six, I've wanted one of those forever, and it's pretty dialed in right now. I suspect I'll keep that one. I do still have a Giant XTC Hybrid alloy/carbon frame too, because I did love that bike, and it was the last one in the US, just holding onto it for a rainy day...

I thought about it all, weighed my options...

Basically it came down to me relizing that if I kept it, it would sit as a frame for who knows how long. I don't have the money to build up 2 road bikes, a cross bike, and my incoming IF. And frankly, I preferred the ride of the SL3.

In the end, though, the nail in the coffin was my boss telling me that when my SL3 is on the block, he's going to give me my next one.

Yes, I would have preferred to keep it, but I'd rather see it get ridden by someone. With the sale of it, I'll be able to get myself a new cross frame, which I'm happy about.
