Is this a good place for an above-beginner rider? It's about 40 minutes away from me and wondering if it's a good place to check out.

40 minutes- what are you waiting for? Go check the mountain out, they have trails for almost every level of rider and I can't imagine any competent rider not finding terrain they can ride there. Even the beginner trails are so well built that they never get old.
