I started to work out daily now, and got myself some protien to help rebuild my muscle and all the other good stuff. So my question is how many grams should someone weighing 175lbs should try to get in daily.
I think they say 0.9-1.5 grams per pound.

Depends on a few things... total caloric intake, activity level, fitness goals, etc.. Generally speaking, your caloric intake should be at about 33% protein, 33% carbs, 33% fats. I don't track them down to the gram anymore, but I shoot for about 180g of protein, 180g of carbs and 70g of fats daily. I go about 180lbs and I'm trying to shed fat and add muscle.

:stupid:

When I am in serious weight lifting mode (usually Nov-March), I consume around 250g-275g protein per day (I weigh 175). During bike season when I just want to stay strong without getting bulked up, I keep it to about 1g protein per pound of body weight.

1 gram or of protein per pound of body weight is a good plan to follow. in order for muscles to hypertrophy you you need 1 gram per pound of lean body weight, but a little more will not hurt you......shoot for 175 grams per day and you will grow.
