It's just too depressing.
I used to get it for Christmas every year from when I was about 7-8 until I left for college and read every copy my grandparents had from the mid-1976's through mid-1980's when I got my own subscription from them. I credit it for a lot of my knowledge of the world, science, nature, etc. I really want to get Haley a subscription of kids, but damn it's depressing, even the kids. I might just get it for her birthday though and keep them for Hannah when she gets old enough to read.
