I'm with you, love the new layout.heres a rep and a like so im sure youll like it after this
in all seriousness, imo this is the greatest layout i have ever seen. im on a bunch of other forums and this one takes the cake
notifications if someone quotes you
notifications if someone " @SCARY " you
the bar on the bottom with the like, dislike, helpful is fun
so, yeah...
<-- i mean look at this funny guy
You're just mad you lost your green squares. It feels sterile and odd and it makes it look like there's less traffic on threads.
So, yeah...
Moar changes to come.and im seeing some ridemonkey facebook activity too!
Can we get a rootbeer background to go with the 3" of wasted side space (brought to you by Gazzalodi)Moar changes to come.
Mostly increased shim counts, obviously. But some other stuff too.
ha ha... too trueYep, old people hate change.
Well, I only use the mobil site because I am a very influential man who is always on the move. I don't have time to stop from my jet setter lifestyle to find a pc to check status's.Poll relevant:

Glad to hear some people are loving the new layout. Incidentally, anyone who wants to see the mobile site without a mobile device can just resize their browser window to be very narrow - the page changes its layout to fit the window.
Scary, I hear you on the sterility, and I've got some changes in the works to help resolve that. I'm not sure what you mean about making it look like there's less traffic, though - can you explain?
See, like this^^.Some parts of the navigation are a little obtuse - - took me a little bit to figure out what to click to get to the last post in the thread; and I think the breadcrumbs should be ABOVE the 'freeze pane' scroll when you are in a thread - - but that's probably because I'm just so used to the VBulletin-style architecture. Overall the look is clean, spare and fresh.
Hmm... okay, there are a couple of issues.I'm saying is that the threads I don't want to look at don't disappear or get unhighlighted from the page after I've looked at it, like the old page.
Also, I can't readily see how many views topics have had.How am I supposed to know when to jump in on a thread and ruin it?
Not sure what this means unless you're referring to the loss of the old rep. Rep is still here, likes are still here, but the old rep was so ingrained after so many years that old members sat at the top and new members could never hope to contribute enough. Thought it was time to start fresh.I think you've lost the spirit of the Internet with some the changes.
Just use the same search link at the top you use for everything else. When you're inside a thread, you'll see a checkbox to "search this thread only."I like it too, but I miss the ability to easily search a thread. Can that come back (or am I missing something)?
yeah, but some of us don't need all the constant affirmation to make our lives feel meaningful. i agree with OP, the new layout is pretty lame......

"Lame" is not actionable but I'm happy to take suggestions if you've got something more specific.i agree with OP, the new layout is pretty lame...
There were no issues with the old style. The old software was a dead end and impossible to manage and maintain.then again, i don't live on here like half of you, so i never knew there were issues with the old style...

so your a buzzkill on both old mtbr and ridemonkey?
I get the blue dot thing, but then I have to click on a topic about a Monster t or Why Snow Summit is Awesome, you know things that are useless and not fun to ride.Hmm... okay, there are a couple of issues.
When a thread is unread, the title should be bold and have a small blue dot next to it. When you have read the thread, the dot will disappear and the title will no longer be bold. Does that not happen for you?
In the second case, I could look at adding the views next to the replies. I think it might become too crowded but I'll see what it looks like.

If you want to mark the threads as read without clicking on them, you can just use the "Mark Forums Read" link under the header. That will mark every thread as read without having to click on them.I get the blue dot thing, but then I have to click on a topic about a Monster t or Why Snow Summit is Awesome, you know things that are useless and not fun to ride.
I digress. The blue dot makes itlook like things that I already chose not to look at are still topics that I should look at because the blue dot makes it look like it's new,but it's not. And I don't want to click on it to get rid of it...as much as I love Snow Summit
I'm moreof a highly trained sniper by comparisonneedy, and think that showed
i'm a jaded old bastard. what can i say?... buzzkill ...
people go there!?i like the fact that there's an entire other thread specifically for this that's not in the dh/freeride forum...
