I am from california. I KNOW to lock my car even if I am away for 10 seconds. Convertable? Absolutely not worth it to leave it down, if I had a convertable, I would only have it "down" when I was in the car. It's tempting to leave it for a minute or too, just like it is tempting to leave doors unlocked for a few seconds, but in reality that is all a good theif needs and he doesn't have to go through the trouble of getting the door open, so half his job is already done. It's too bad that we have to take these kinds of measures these days, but it is the simple fact.
