I'm trying to poop and there is a whole cluster of Germans and thier kids right outside my window. On a farm house, in the country side. Of all the places they could be, they have to hang out right outside somebody's goddamn bathroom window?

Having just come through Milan on the train, I wish we'd spent some time in that part of italy. The mountains were amazing and Milan is close. April might still be a bit early? There was still a fair amount of snow visible from the train, and I understand this winter was fairly mild, at least here in the Tuscan region.

Also, don't discount the panda. I scoffed at that little car when we picked it up, and I've totally changed my mind. First, it has a surprising amount of get up and go for a euro-shitbox car, handles like a rollerskate on rails in the corners, and gets amazing mileage. Just two hours ago it cost me 47 euros to fill after driving the shit out of it for the last 4 days. Gas is EXPENSIVE. The Panda is a shockingly fun car to drive here in the Tuscan foothills. It's like real life Mario Kart, and I've had a great time driving here.

Had a meeting with teacher/principal this morning about the things we need to work on with my youngest for next year. Apparently he's impulsive and reacts physically when he frustrated (instead of using words). no friggin' shit, he's five fucking years old. Also, why the fuck are we only hearing about this as a "problem" now?! I know he's on the bottom of the bell curve when it comes to language, but not outside the norm when it comes to his age category (we had him evaluated by a specialist). Plus, he's learning two languages at the same time. We'd tried to talk to the teacher throughout the year, and even asked her to put in place a sticker book for him to reward good behaviour, and let us know when and how things are going wrong. That lasted about 2 weeks, and then nothing. Sure we could/should have followed up when it stopped, but we figured things were getting better. Anyways, we found out that teacher is gone next year, but the principal is awesome (and hopefully we get a teacher with more experience). The principal fully acknowledged where we were coming from, and made good concrete suggestions for how to support him moving forward, both at home and at school. So in the end the conversation was quite constructive. Constructive enough to warrant a little extra-marital exercise when we got home... :brows: hey, you gotta take advantage of the house when it's empty!

Building on that winning, this afternoon I have a "company" bbq to close off the week, which I am leaving early to head out to a buddy's cottage for our 10th (9th maybe?) annual fathers day celebrations that include a ride, a swim, lots of beers, good food, and shed-related activities. We had to do it early this year because of a stoopid enduro race at the mountain, and my buddy's kid is now old enough to want to participate , but it may actually work out better because a) I get to leave work early, b) I'll have Saturday and Sunday to recover, and c) I'll be around on fathers day so my kids can shower me with affection and gifts. (and maybe I'll get lucky again... though twice in one weekend would be unheard of....)

Had a decent dinner out with my mom and son last night for my birthday (wifey was working late). Sooooooooooo glad the weekend is finally here. Hoping to get out for a ride tomorrow morning then one of the local breweries is having a grand opening of their outdoor beer garden tomorrow night so may check that out.

Don't be a bitch and not hit me up for Helena.

EDIT: or this which is a little early in the season for my legs but provides a 7 mile descent with virtually no uphill traffic. paging @Montana rider

In hell. Welcome!
One more meeting, then beers with work pals, then a lazy evening and installation of coil fork for on my coil-suspended bike.
Then I may ceremonially burn the shock pump.
