Our volunteer ski patrol provides first aid services for races. In exchange the organizers give our patrol a couple of hundred bucks per race. I am familiar with NORBA’s insurance program for racing. But, some of our organizers are not doing NORBA events.

For those of you who ride in events outside of NORBA, do you know if riders are insured? I believe NORBA provides a safety net policy for race day. $1,000 deductible paying 80% up to a $25,000 max.

Also, any organizers out there have info on what kind of general liability you carry?

some places actually carry extra insurance on top of norba ins. You would have to check with the event organizers to see if they picked up insurance or not. All the events my clubs sponsors are covered weather their Norba or not.

I'm talking specifically about the one-day safety net plan medical insurance for the racers, not general liability for the race.
