    Looking at getting a VPN.
Use will primarily be KODI - going to experiment before cutting the TV cord.

    Some other minor uses
    Torrents
    Porn
    Fomenting rebellion in foreign landz

The three on the table, in no order:

    ExpressVPN
    IP Vanish
    PIA

They seem to have a good range of countries / servers/ lack or logs/ good speed / etc

    Thoughts?

They are all approved by the NSA.

Well Express VPN is British Virgin Islands, so no forced NSA co-operation or gag orders, but does that really matter with the tap on the transcontinental undersea lines, as well as taps in various us data centers....

Being from Canukistan, not too worried, but with the way US companies are pressuring Canadian ISP's with regard to DCMA etc etc - and the previous corporate US licking government - our data laws started to change to more resemble yours - a VPN just may be worth the few bucks a month.

Even if it just opens up various services to browsing - ie BBC content, and my about to be embarked upon TV cord cutting KODI experiment to geo-blocked US / Foreign content - kewl.

Don't ask me, I'm in the government with a government issued VPN and I'm in on the conspiracy.
