Why are there so many Honda's there? Are they actually being sold in Japan through bike shops?
No, they're just sponsored. The Japanese Honda team has 2 riders. Ryo Uchijima (Akebono) has one, and one woman pro rides one too. So there's only like 4-5 pros in Japan riding them I think.

Honda has 2 works riders. Naoki Idegawa,ex Global Racing,and Tadashi Takahashi,Young guy ranked 3rd in Japan 2003.
And Honda provides their bikes for some riders,Ryo Uchijima,National Champion 2002,Isao Ida,Japanese Masters Champion 2004,Miho Kamo****a,a girl rider next to Mio Suemasa(Trek),and Junya Nagata,Fastest Jounior Rider.They ride it as private team.
I think some of them will ride Honda on world championship LesGets.
