I just bought some kool stop brake pads for my Trek 4300, and i when i went to put them on, i noticed they have a different way of being put on that the stockers. Is there anyway of getting the kool stops on a 4300 with stock brakes?

no, i just got pads with posts on em. they are the eagle claw 2 i think.

Did you get threaded,

or post mount.

Or you might need cartridge style.

take it to your local bike shop. they'll know exactly what to do, and probably it won't cost much. that's what i do when i can't figure something out.

It's clear that you got the wrong pads. Kool-Stop makes the "Eagle Claws" and the "Eagle 2" pads. While both of these are available with a threaded or non-threaded post, NEITHER one is correct for your brakes. They are for low-end "pivot" brakes and center-pull cantilevers respectively. Next time buy pads marked "V-brake" or "Linear-pull." Kool-Stop's ones are called the "Thinlines." They are good.
