i'm currently on a 2000 stumpjumper fsr xc which i took on a 40 mile bike ride. i ride it almost every day, but on that one trip, i came across many road bikes that would pass me almost effortlessly. it was a bit of a pain going up steeper hills and my legs were cramped by the end. im looking for a bike i can save up for that can take me far but not snap in half if i take it on trails. i've been looking at cyclocross bikes and road bikes but i'm a bit lost. any recommendations?
