What did you get?Snowing, temperature dropping. Guess I'll pick up the new snowblower.
What snowblower did you get?@StiHacka We have little accumulation, but five inches is predicted for tomorrow, with temperatures in the single digits Thursday and Friday mornings.
...but it's red, right?Power Max HD 928 OHXE (38801).
why not use ski goggles? I like Smith I/O.Anybody have a recommendation for biking goggles that don't fog up?
caus' they're big money? And I thought biking wouldn't be fast enough to get air flowing through them. though I have a few pairs I could try. My rose coloured lenses do well with night skiing, so I'd imagine they'd work for evening commuting too....why not use ski goggles? I like Smith I/O.
Where did you go? Wife and I want too climb every peak we can see from our house either via bike or on foot, I think Squaw was our only new one this year...Mornin!
Wife and I hiked 12ish miles and 3,000' of up on Saturday. Called it early though, the plan called for a wee bit more mileage and another 1,000; of elevation gain, but we decided against that as it would have meant hiking down some rugged terrain in the dark with only my headlamp (I told her to bring hers, "why would I possibly need that?!" she said).
Fork is back together, this time via torque wrench. Bike is on two wheels, just to set up the drivetrain, give the brakes another bleed, then it'll be ready to roll!
I draw the line personally at 15° F. Today I drove in despite 32° F, in fact, because being around all of The Olds at the symphony last night apparently gave me the SARS.First chilly commute in this morning. 7°F (-14°C) with a windchill of -6°F.
Turn signals are hard...<snip>
- dude across from me at a 4 way stop on campus who arrived at his station shortly before me yet didn't turn on his left turn signal and then turn until partway in the intersection--I'd already started to move myself assuming we were each going to go straight across.

My body cooperated yesterday for the first time in months; I was able to sleep in a little. Went and hiked some old school bike trails that we dug 12+ years ago. I am guessing that they have not been ridden or even touched in the last 5. Still cool to see the berms and stuff hidden in there. I also hiked, or rather slid, down another trail that I rode in the spring on the CX bike. That hill is way steeper than I remember, its a mystery how I actually made it down that trail on that bike without eating shit.

Green Mountain up in Boulder. Parked at NCAR and came around from the back side. Was planning on doing Bear Peak via the West Ridge while we were up there, but daylight had different plans.Where did you go? We are mulling doing Bear Peak and South Boulder Peak next weekend. That's a pretty badass hike too.
didn't have the time to get out saturday, sunday was too warm and trails would have been a sloppy mess where i am.A predicted coating to an inch on Saturday turned into a fluffy 4-6" and made for perfect snowy trails yesterday - no fatbike needed. Only needed to dial the speed down a click or two, traction was great. Best snow ride in years.
