Hello, I'm still new to the bullentin board.
Me and my friend are trying to install the Manitou lockout kit to a Manitou SX (2k model). Let me include some of the email conversation we had the last few days to describe the problem we ran into. Hopefully some of you know what we're talking about and know the solution. THanks

me thinks i had the same problem

what happened to my lok-out was that even when i turned the know, the needle inside turned but the ports never aligned with the ports on the outside cylinder

so what i did was to cut the plastic on the top of the dial to allow the knob to turn some extra degrees

it worked then but it seems the needle assembly had loosened from the rest so when i installed it got misaligned again, if its a lok-out try getting it replaced with a no.bob, those things look exactly the same but work a lot better, ive had no probs with 2 of those and im 4 out of 5 for trouble with the lok.outs

I have a Manny lockout on my SX and it works great. If it is not working after you see the port being closed check the nut at the bottom. Tighten this if its loose (try 1/2 turn at a time) and see if it helps. I actually lossened mine to add a little bounce to the front so the tire won't deflect so badly off roots and rocks on climbs.
