I was down near Santa Barbara in the Santa Ynez Valley and I went cruzing the hills east of San Marcos pass road. Light breeze mid 70's and no cars.....I had the pavement to myself it was incredible. I did hook up with some locals for 8-9 miles, one was 60 and whipping along on a single speed steel framed griffin turning a 53-21 on the climb and a 53-17 on the way back out, the other guy was on a red Giant. They were really fun guys to yak with and gave me some nice beta on one of the loops I rode

I did a couple of nice climbs and found a freshly paved descent down a ridge that allowed me to coast along at 46 mph:monkeydance:

I then met up with my wife and spent the afternoon with 20 friends drinking ice cold beer and eating BBQ

Excellent Day
