    Hello,
Need help urgently please. I opened my laptop casing to remove the cd/dvd drive but after closing it up and powering it on the screen is black. The fan is working properly and even the caps lock lights blink on and I've tried reseating the cables from the monitor to the motherboard but still the screen is black. I even tried the thing where i remove the battery, unplug from socket and press power button for sixty seconds but still nothing changes.
What could be the issue and what do i do?

If it only did this after you took it apart, then you most likely pooped it up somewhere. Double check for loose cables, ribbons etc etc.

Try to plug your laptop into an external display, then you can at least narrow it down to the laptop screen that is the issue.

Other than that, try it now?

Not to mention that in requesting technical assistance, you didn't provide basic information like manufacturer and model...

Sorry. I was kinda panicking I forgot about the basic info. Its a Toshiba Satelite L300. But its alright now. The problem was in the RAM chips. I interchanged them and the screen came back on.
Thank you to all who responded.

As a long time IT employee who has experienced my share of incredibly frustrating blue screens, this photo leaves me conflicted.

Why? Simply eliminate the blue screen.
