I've been riding road for the last year or so and the bike I was on was a little big. I sold it and my xc bike and got this beauty this week. Hand welded steel and bonded carbon from the Dolomites. Full record groupo. I can't wait to get this puppy out on the road - if it ever clears up!

The year of the grouppo should be 2001 - not totally sure though.

I got some guy over on roadbikereview.com telling me not to ride these wheels laced the way they are because record hub flanges are too weak to handle radial lace....

Oh well...

um.....not to rain on your parade, but you're gonna need a chain, regardless of how purty she is.....which she really is. Just kidding. Absolutely gorgeous. Almost makes me want a bike with gears.

chain came in and was installed yesterday. Will be on the maiden voyage tomorrow for 25 local miles - hopefully. Will provide ride report soon thereafter...

Quick update: After about 40 or so miles on this bike, I couldn't be happier. The Record Grouppo far exceeds my expectations - My old bike was ultegra, which is good, but now I see what all those Campy fans were talking about. I went ahead and relaced the wheels 3-cross for ultimate reliability. The radial lacing kinda weirded me out after reading all the warnings against doing it. I figure $50 for new spokes (DT Revolution 2.0/1.8) is a pretty cheap cost for peace of mind. Anywho, here's an updated pic with the chain, some bottle cages and the freshly relaced wheels.
