I have never built a chair before. Making it look cool yet comfortable is a challenge. I like the modern lines of the steel. I will use 60's & 70's street rod interior as inspiration for the vinyl seat cushions and colored piping. This first chair i will probably powdercoat the steel black. Maybe use white vinyl with black piping. Or maybe a combination of black and teal vinyl.

I think you should use a wire wheel finish and then clear coat.
