Not really, since this is entirely computer-speak and even in the US the date gets written with the Day first.
Uhhhh, pretty sure in the US, by far the most common format is MM/DD/YYYY. My company is owned by a German company, and it took a while to get used to using the DD/MM/YYYY format on all documentation.

Be that as it may, others really come to expect it. And if it's being harped about on a sterile internet forum, it looks hokey wankey. The forum base here is international, and no one is issuing deadlines for contributions.
