my wife saw the movie and thought it sucked...then read the book and confirmed her initial impression. if my wife thinks it sucks then it must REALLY suck.. ie: princess diaries is one of her favorite movies 
Any movie with Richard Gere in it sucks unless you are a 40+ yo woman. Even then it probably sucks but you watch it any way.

They filmed Nights in Rodanthe at Topsail Island,NC. Went to a beachhouse @ Topsail Island last year while they were filming it.Drove by the movie set every day.
Amazing (greenscreen or whatever) how they make it look like that beachouse in the movie was "all alone".When it was actually in a line with other beachhouses.
