Some of you may remember me asking about Super-D racing and trail set up a few months back.

We had our race last weekend (Sept. 16) and it was a great success. Small turn out but every one loved it and promised to be back with friends for next years event.

Ou race was probley not what most would think of for Super-D but it was the best closest cat. we could find.

The runs started here at the Tower of Power. Yes those are power poles, this tower will last may a years to come.

followed up by a quick sprint down a fire rd before taking a berm into the forest and over top this sweet coaster:

Next up was a bit of single track littered with some huge exposed roots - this section puts some space between those with more XC back ground and DH - the downhillers blow by the cross country riders here.

After a bit more single track riders swoop on to a grassy woods road, slightly downhill. take it easy or sprint if you want to make up time before ducking right back in to the forest, nice rocky section of trail broken up by a skinny before splitting and giving riders two options for directions.

Hang right and you get to take the fast line off this drop:

the drop takes you down a steep hill to a berm then in to a short coaster brige before the other slower trail meets back up.

Riders would now be set up for the big climb of the race. its short but fairly steep and by this time you've been sprinting for almost 2 min and the burn is setting in.

Your climb is rewarded with a quick steep downhill - steeper then this looks:
as normal this is steeper then it looks:

Then you slam a berm and get to sprinting again down a section of double track

Some more sweet, tight and swoopy trail comes next, with one more drop (and 'slow-around') before you get to the finish line river gap (again with alt. line provided)

I wish i had a better photo but this is the ending gap:

All and all the race was a success! We could have made a longer corse but at with keeping it short that lets riders push hard all the way - this keept the fun level high. Every one was gassed by the time they hit the finish line as it was.

Winning time (mine I might add) was 3:38

Can't wait for next years event!
