Well road cycling is one of the most dangerous sports. Something like 1/3rd of all riders suffer a season ending injury, a handful die each year. If you exclude the nutjobs at the Isle of Mann. Riding a bicycle may be more dangerous than racing a motorcycle.

I knew it was really bad looking at the impact mark on the car. I worked an accident where a guy in full moto gear did the same thing. His body armor saved him, still had 20 hours of surgery at trauma. Lycra and a roadie helmet ( or not) is no match for a car.
