Thanks to everyone who showed up last year, the race turned out better than we could have ever expected. We had 177 racers sign up to test their mettle at Booker T Washington State Park for the first annual Pick Your Poison XC. Changes this year are few, but will ultimately make for a more awesome event for everyone involved. This is the FIRST race in our Lynskey/SORBA Chattanooga Race Series.
Those brave souls that ride the trails at Booker T Washington State Park during the summer know all too well that an unplanned trip off trail means choosing between landing in a patch of Poison Oak or Poison Ivy. That is, of course, assuming you dont clip one of the many trees or get caught in privet so thick it rivals the vaunted ivy at Wrigley Field. Riding at Booker T Washington State Park really is like choosing your own special brand of poison. With that in mind, SORBA Chattanooga decided to hold our first race of the season at Booker T and name it; Pick Your Poison XC.
This race is run by mountain bikers, for mountain bikers. Since nothing but the best will do for our friends, we've lined up an amazing group of sponsors just for this event. Lynskey Performance Designs is giving away a new MT-29 or MT-650 (your choice) bike frame. Owens Cyclery is providing custom Pick Your Poison XC Koozies to the first 200 participants. Post race drinks provided by Double Cola. East Ridge Bicycles, Suck Creek Cycles, Cycle Sport Concepts Tenn, and Hub Endurance have also joined forces to help us put on an awesome event. Be sure to bring that hunger along with you, Rolling J's Mobile Bistro will be there with a special menu just for this event.
As a thank you to our SORBA-Chattanooga members and because we love you, all current SORBA Chattanooga members will get FREE entry into the event. If you dont have a USAC license, you will be required to buy a one-day license onsite for $10.
