Took some time today to bust out my 20", take it all apart, regrease, buff, clean and polish this fine old steed. Which steed you ask? My 100th anniversary Schwinn XS 2. It's full chromoly, 100% original minus the tires and tubes and maybe one brake pad. She was looking a little long in the tooth. A bit of rust here and there, some built up mung and goo on the chain and around the freewheel and just looked a little dull. This bike holds a lot of meaning to me. This is one of the 13 bikes my good friend Crazy (yeah...Crazy) gave me several years ago. Well Crazy is gone, so the bike is one of the few things I have of his. Most of the bikes were given away to kids in the 'hood..in some of my pumptrack pics you will see a K2 Maintime...that was on of them that a kid from around here is still riding.
Anyways...here is a few pics of the old girl...She still has a few laps of the pumptrack in her.
