The article describes how congress is taking advantage of the new lobbyist fund raising limits to raise even more funds from lobbyists.

My question is when do the events occur where congresspeople get to meet with their consitituents? You know, the people they supposedly represent?

You actually thought that new rules would change anything?

As for when they meet with their constituents, when have they ever in the last 50 years? I suspect they have about as many public events now as they did then but now they have 10 times the constituents.

Graham hit it right on the head, as long as elections are privately funded this is what you get. Don't get the money don't get elected.

so you think we'd be better off if we had a representation ratio closer to what we had when the union was formed? Anybody know how big the house would be? How would you handle the redistricting?

Put it this way the state of North Carolina has 120 representatives in its House. That's for just over 8 million people.
