Vernon NJ, May 15, 2007 – This past weekend, over 750 eager mountain bikers flocked to Diablo Freeride Park to celebrate the much anticipated launch of the 2007 bike season. Riders from as far north as Montreal, as far west as Wisconsin and as far south as Florida made the trek to picturesque Mountain Creek Resort to session the trails of Diablo and celebrate the season opener.
Newly developed trails such as ‘Tempest’ and ‘Anthem’ proved to be instant classics and reworked lines such as ‘Dominion’ and ‘Alpine’ featuring over a one-and-a-half mile descent packed full of banked turns, jumps and wallrides, continued to be rider favorites.
This upcoming weekend, Diablo Freeride Park will proudly host ROUND ONE of the 2007 Diablo Domination Series. In addition, ROUND ONE is also the third stop of the newly formed Gravity East Series where racers will receive separate points for both the Diablo Domination Series and the Gravity East Series. With the U.S. Open looming the following weekend, and with many top racers in town, the competition is expected to be fierce.
Currently, the Diablo Trail Crew is hard at work preparing a new upper race course section for Domination Series ROUND ONE and tweaking the acclaimed U.S. Open course in time for May 25th.
