Rampage lost a little allure to me when folks started riding the 'real mountain' stuff is a shakey fashion just to throw down a flip or two and then still get top points (antoine bizet on a kona seems to ring a bell) whilst Tmac stomped all kinds of outrageous lines just to miss out because of a lack of tricks. i may be confusing different years but either way -better judging this year please.

After seeing Warner training to see off Longden and Page in a 'Legends' race at world champs I've been entertained by the thought of Tyler Klassen, Bender, etc throwing down again like the good old days.

maybe I'm coming across wrong. It comes down to this - if your line takes you up, over or down something - yes, that's great. If you divert your run to fit in a trick on a smooth little path between the other features to gather a few extra points - I'm not keen.

Say what you want but after a pretty great run the extra flip at 2.20 just seems unnecessary here. What kind of obstacle is that? if a 'trick' brings you to an almost stop, then an awkward slow turn to get you back on your trail how is that worth more points than actually riding in a clear and concise fashion in one smooth flowing link?
