Ha, those are apples we grew, being run in 3rd party facility. I was there inspecting the quality of said fruits. Hopefully those slum lord fruit packers pay us well for those delicious Granny Smith apples we picked last year and have been sitting in storage for the last 10 months.
Granny's always look good running through a packing shed for some reason.

And if the fruit has been in MA/CA for ten months I'm surprised they are not wearing more as it will be rather cold

Yeah I bet the core temp on those apples was right around 33 degrees, but they had been run through the wash and been dried, so they'd been in contact with warm water and air before they get to the sorters.
