after playing around on a friend's bmx I'd really like to get pegs (or at least one rear peg) on my 24": [start commercial mode] grinding pegs is not only easier than sprocket and pedal grinds, it also opens up a whole new world of possibilities.. And smith grinds are wack! [/end]
Simple idea, but it seems kinda hard to find a hub that will allow this?
I'm looking for a hub with specs like:
- strong
- 14mm axle, 135mm wide to fit mtb frame
- preferrably able to take a standard 16T freewheel, although if really impossible I might switch to cassette, but it should still be 16T else I have to buy another sprocket as well, and those tree sprockets aren't exactly cheap.
- centered flanges
- disc mount not needed, weight is irrelevant
The only candidate I found so far is the 14mm version of Dmr's Revolver hub. I have the 10mm version right now, so I know it's likely going to be a pretty sturdy hub, just not sure it can take peg abuse? And is there really no other company making someting like this?
I've also been checking out bmx hubs, but afaik they're made for 110mm frame width so I doubt I can get it to fit. And even if I could, the flanges are closer together so I'd end up with a weaker wheel. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
