Not that it applys but I think when I replaced my Original X-max rim it was like $80 but I did it myself. I first owned Cross-lands and when I sent it back to be replaced I think it cost about the same. I'd just talk to your local mavic rep and get yourself the rim and have qualified wheel builder who understands how to properly tension a wheel and have them build it. Its cheaper and faster.
I suggest , if you make your mechanic rebuild the xmax for you, not to pull the spokes too much as the rims are not as strong as you might think. I personally have seen a pair of xmax with the nipple hole stripped.
